Summer’s nearly here, and for many women that will mean making the trip to a fantastic Spa such as Blue Point Medical to ensure they’re bikini ready and looking their best. Waxing is a kind of semi-permanent hair removal which rids you of unwanted hair by taking them out at the root.

Although new hairs will grow back in the area, you can rest assured that their reappearance will typically take much longer than it would after shaving. Whether you’re a waxing pro, or new to the whole idea, it can be a marvelous idea to keep a few basic tips in mind if you want to make sure your appointment goes as smoothly as possible.

What should You Expect?

Once you have managed to pluck up the courage and make an appointment at the Blue Point Medical Spa, you might find it comforting to know what is going to happen. Typically, if the hair on the area you want to be waxed is too long your specialist will quickly trim it, before applying heated wax evenly and carefully onto the skin with a wooden stick.

The wax then cools and captures the hair before a cotton strip is placed over the section of skin. The strip is then pulled away from the skin quickly in the opposite direction to your hair growth, removing the hairs from the follicles along with any dead skin cells.

What to do Before Your Treatment

Wax can be utilized to remove unwanted hair on virtually any portion of your body, including the upper lip and face, legs, bikini line, arms and underarms. Before your treatment, it’s usually judicious for you to allow your hair a period of three or four weeks to grow properly. This may not sound like something you really want to do, especially if you’re planning a night out, but it will help you to attain the best possible results.

Remember not to use any lotions or oils on the day you are getting your wax, or even after the last shower you had prior to your appointment. Generally, it can be a marvelous notion to take a shower as close to your appointment as possible, since hot water will help to open the pores in your skin, giving your beautician better access to your hair and making the process less painful for you. Furthermore, when you’re in the shower you can exfoliate to improve your chances of smooth, bump free legs.  Make your appointment today to have nice and smooth legs at 702.307.3330.
