Now that it has become a requirement for people to wear masks in public, we have been hearing from a lot of you that your skin is becoming irritated. Some of you are experiencing dry, cracked skin and some of you are having breakouts. It’s to be expected, you’re now wearing a piece of fabric on your face that is rubbing on your cheeks (and behind your ears) with every movement you make.

Another contributing factor is your makeup. Even if you’re wearing the best mineral makeup you can find, you can still expect breakouts. The mask creates a barrier that is blocking air flow – your skin perspires, and bacteria thrives – that mixtures seeps into your pores and new pimples form.

The most important step you can take is to WASH YOUR FACE! Morning and night at the minimum. If you want to go an extra step, freshen up in the middle of the day, whether it be using face wash or a towelette. Also, make sure you are washing your mask every day, or at least every other day.

Now, if you’re still having breakouts and irritation, you can come in for a treatment. We have a few facials that will help rehydrate and exfoliate your skin and calm down the irritation.

If you’re not entirely comfortable being that close with an aesthetician, we have products that can help too!

Of course, Face Wash is a must, just make sure you choose one that works best for your skin type.

You can use ZO Calming Toner to balance your skins pH by removing impurities and invigorating weak, sensitive skin.

For hydration use any of these:

ZO Daily Power Defense

Jan Marini Transformation Cream

BluePoint Lite Moisture Dew Cream

To exfoliate the skin use any of these:

ZO Oil Control Pads or Complexion Renewal Pads

Jan Marini Resurfacing Pads

BluePoint Gly/Sal Pads

Of course, if you have questions before deciding on any treatments or products, you can schedule an in-person or virtual consultation with us!
