The first thing to understand about Microblading is that (thank goodness) it has nothing to do with a “blade”.  The term Microblading describes a technique and a process. The technique of Microblding is done with the use of a specialized hand tool. This tool contains specifically designed groupings of very tiny needles.  By gently sliding the needles across and slightly into the skin, a very thin, hair like effect is achieved to become part of and fill in an otherwise bare brow area. With the correct depth and careful placement of these little “hairs”, a beautiful brow is then created in a shape that has been carefully designed by the artist to best flatter and enhance the client’s facial features. Every face has its own unique type of beauty and eyebrow shaping should never be a “one size fits all”.  The designed brow shape is approved by the client prior to commencement of the microblading process. Two sessions of the Microblading procedure, spaced four to six weeks apart, are necessary to produce the desired result and retention of the pigment. There are (rare) times, particularly with oily skin, when a third application may be needed. A bonus to the Microblading process is that it can Be quite tolerable.  Numbing is applied pre-and throughout the color implantation. Many of my clients happily tell me they “felt almost nothing” during the application.  Others say that it feels “less than plucking”. One thing to remember with any and all Permanent Make Up procedures is that they should never be done if you are at your premenstrual time of the month because of the body’s increased sensitivity at that time. Even though your new brow shape can last for many years, the color will fade and the tiny hairs will dissipate into the skin over time.  It is recommended to get a refresher application once per year to maintain the integrity and clarity of the hair strokes. Permanent Make up is very different from body tattoos as the facial skin is thinner and more delicate than skin on the body. The benefits of waking up with beautiful brows are immeasurable because it gives more time for living life to the fullest, something we all deserve. Cheers to your new brows, more time and less stress!
